A/B testing (also known as split testing or bucket testing) is a method of comparing two versions of an email against each other to determine which one performs better.
Use cases:
(1). Create 2 templates with different Subject lines to compare email open rate.
(2). Create 2 templates with different Text, pictures, Call-to-action button or colors to compare email click rate.
Setup:
1. Click on "A/B Test" for the email template you like to create a variation.
2. Click on "Add A/B Test" in the overview page.
3. Add a Variation Code (which is anything you can identify the template by).
4. Adjust the Look & Feel, or skip to leave the default look & feel.
5. Add the Text Content. The default text is displayed on the right. If no changes are required in specific sections, just leave it blank.
6. Save and Preview.
Tracking the results:
It is recommended to send around 1000 emails to receive valuable results.
On the A/B Test landing page you will see results of both emails. We will compare (1) number of emails sent, (2) email open %, (3) email click % and (4) transaction %.
